Since my last post lots of good stuff has happened, and I've been getting all my books in. First off my boyfriend got a job as a security guard, and the uniform is a big bonus for me. With his little badge and boots all clean cut it just makes me want to eat him up, but the draw back is I got to wake up at five in the morning to make him breakfast. Also I had a great interview at Harry & David in the mall with a women who I can associate with because we are both outgoing gamers. Honestly I hope I get the job so I can work in a place I will enjoy with people who are more relaxed personality-wise. When I worked at Gap Outlet everyone was so impersonal and stuck up, and there were so many people working there I only saw one person twice. Plus I got another interview at Brooks Brothers on Friday so wish me luck so maybe I'll have two jobs this Christmas. As for my recent reads I might have skipped the second book in the Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress series because the third book Savor Me Slowly was kind of unusual. This maybe my first escapade into science fiction romance, but with the female of the story being a bio-engineered biotic humanoid it was a little hard to get used to. She is a really messed up woman emotionally due to all the stuff she is forced to do or die, but you can still understand how she feels. She is put together with human and animal DNA then they modified that with alien technology, and there is a chip in her head that constantly does statistics and other cool stuff. Unfortunately it can double as a torture device and can even kill her if her owner chooses so I was happy when the handsome hero came along (after being tortured himself) to rescue her. There are tons of obstacles to their romance like friends of his who want her dead and a genocidal alien race, but you'll be happy to know there is a great ending.
Hi, my name is Ashley and I am pleased to meet you. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize ahead of time. For reasons beyond my mortal comprehension I am a honest person(I know odd huh?) and I like to spend most of my free time reading books. Due to this unruly affliction I must find a job to support my habit. My quest is a perilous one and has so far been met with great amounts of opposition, but I have hope. This is the chronicles of my journey so please feel free to enjoy.

Baking to Kill Time
I have ordered some new books to be delivered soon, but until then I'm basking in the dull void of purgatory. Luckily for me and everyone else in this house I have come under the spell of the ghost of Betty Crocker. There is this urge to bake pies and cakes that I think is a sign that the holidays are coming. So far I have made a apple pie, peach pie, and two pumpkin spice cakes with great results, but I did mess up the supposedly crumbly crust on my peach pie that turned out chewy. It has given me the interesting idea of opening a little stand at the swap-meet here in town to sell some of my creations, and I might as well make money on this. Now I am looking for new challenges to back, and talking some of my family out of their recipes hasn't been that hard so far, but I think my sister's chocolate pie recipe might not be too easy to get from her. Also I got some five hundred piece puzzles to do to keep my brain busy so I don't go stir crazy waiting on someone to call me back from my application attempts. If I get a job I can't go home to Mississippi to see my mom, and I really want to so if none of them are going to give me a chance they need to just say it. Seasonal jobs are an opportunity to get a steady job that I desperately need, and I can't really risk not taking one. If I can nab a job that lasts more then a few months then not seeing my mom is a sacrifice I will reluctantly have to make. Life and responsibility really suck a good bit of the time, but at least I have pumpkin cake to make me feel like I'm home.
